    Aircraft Piloting

    Aeroplane Piloting

The special training course of aeroplane piloting from ab initio level is designed in accordance with JAR-FCL 1 (Joint Aviation Requirements - Flight Crew Licensing) CPL(A)/IR (Commercial Pilot License-Aeroplane/Instrument Rating) integrated course.

An applicant for a CPL(A)/IR shall be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.

The course comprises two integrated parts:

    a) Theoretical knowledge instruction up to ATP (A) knowledge level
    b) Visual and instrument flying training

The theoretical knowledge syllabus is set out by JAR-FCL and the approved course comprises 9 aviation subjects, the total being at least 1,000 academic hours (a 45 min).

The flying instruction is divided into six phases and comprises 228 flying hours 30 hours of which are on ME (multi-engine) aircraft. The aircraft used for flying training are Cessna-172 and Piper Navajo (ME).

Phase 1. Exercises up to the first solo flight.
Phase 2. Solo flights and intoduction to instrumental and en-route flights.
Phase 3. En-route and instrumental flying training.
Phase 4. Night flying and instrumental flying training.
Phase 5. Flights on a multi-engine aeroplane and CPL(A)/IR skills test.
Phase 6. MCC theory and practical training.

An applicant for a CPL(A)/IR shall have demonstrated the ability to perform as the pilot-in-command of an aeroplane the procedures and manoeuvres described in JAR-FCL 1 with a degree of competency appropriate to the privileges granted to the holder of a CPL(A)/IR.

On completion of the related flying training the applicant shall take the CPL(A) skills test on either a multi-engine aeroplane or a single-engine aeroplane and the instrument rating skills test on a multi-engine aeroplane.

The aim of the CPL(A)/IR integrated course is to train pilots to the level of proficiency necessary to operate single-pilot multi-engine aeroplanes in commercial air transportation and to obtain the CPL(A)/IR.

    Helicopter Piloting

The special training course of helicopter piloting from ab initio level is designed in accordance with JAR-FCL 2 (Joint Aviation Requirements - Flight Crew Licensing) CPL(H) (Commercial Pilot License-Helicopter) integrated course. An applicant for a CPL(H) shall be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid Class 1 medical certificate.

The course comprises two integrated parts:

    a) Theoretical knowledge instruction up to CPL(H) knowledge level
    b) Visual and instrument flying training

The theoretical knowledge syllabus is set out by JAR-FCL and the approved course comprises 9 aviation subjects, the total being at least 1,000 academic hours (a 45 min).

The flying instruction is divided into six phases and comprises 137 flying hours. The aircraft used for flying practice are the Cessna-172, Robinson R22 and Schweizer-300C.

Phase 1. Introduction to flying a SEP (singel-engine piston) plane.
Phase 2. Introduction to flying a helicopter and preparation for solo flights.
Phase 3. Solo and en-route flights, preparation for instrumental flights.
Phase 4. Instrumental flights on FNPT II (flight navigation and procedures trainer).
Phase 5. Instrumental flights on a SEP plane.
Phase 6. Night flying, practising emergenies and preparation for CPL(H) exam flight.

An applicant for a CPL(H) shall have demonstrated the ability to perform as the pilot-in-command of a helicopter the relevant procedures and manoeuvres described in JAR-FCL 2 with a degree of competency appropriate to the privileges granted to the holder of a CPL(H).

On completion of the related flying training, the applicant shall take the CPL(H) skills test.

The aim of the CPL(H) integrated course is to train the pilots to the level of proficiency necessary for the issue of a CPL(H), but not the instrument rating further specialization (e.g. aerial work activities).
