Aviation Company Management
The curriculum of the speciality of Aviation Company Management (C6) allows the Academy to educate specialists at the level of professional higher education who have the knowledge and skills in conformity with the international requirements and the requirements valid in the Republic of Estonia which they can apply in fulfilling their work tasks as specialists. To perfect their practical skills, the students have familiarization practice in Finnish aviation companies and working practice in Estonian aviation companies as prescribed by the curriculum. The graduates are also able to work in different state structures (Civil Aviation Administration, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defence).
The graduates of the speciality of Aviation Company Management can start working in different aviation enterprises in the Republic of Estonia (the Estonian Civil Aviation Administration, airports, aviation companies, the Border Guard Aviation Group, Estonian Air Navigation Services, Estonian Air Force, etc.) occupying posts which either demand or recommend higher aviation education. Their appropriate employment is as leaders of the middle rank.
Aircraft Maintenance
The aim of aircraft maintenance is to provide for airworthiness of aircraft by daily inspection and routine maintenance of the aircraft as prescribed in the technical documentation.
In the course of their studies the trainees are expected to acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required in their work of daily inspection of all the aircraft control equipment, technical systems on board, powerplant, airframe and navigation and flight instruments.
A technician of aircraft maintenance should be able to take complicated technical decisions while testing the equipment on board the aircraft and planning the necessary maintenance and repair operations. Aircraft maintenance and repair operations require good skills of handling special mechanical tools and a high sense of responsibility for the quality of the operations in maintaining airworthiness of aircraft.
The course of Aircraft Maintenance offers specialisation in two branches:
AIRFRAME AND POWERPLANT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING dealing with the maintenance and repair of aircraft airframe and powerplant.
AVIONICS AND INSTRUMENTS MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING dealing with large-scale electrical repair operations. The engineer is expected to be able to read circuit designs, understand systems and handle standard gauges.
An engineer of Aircraft Maintenance should be conversant with technical English.
Practical training in Aircraft Maintenance takes place in aviation companies in Estonia, Finland and Sweden.
(The curriculum of aircraft maintenance has been approved by the Estonian Civil Aviation Administration as corresponding to the international requirements (PART 66, PART 147).
The Maintenance Training Organisation has been certified according to the regulations of PART 147.
